What is Home Bleaching?
In this method, whitening plaques are prepared in the patient’s mouth by measuring first. The patient applies certain amounts of whitening gel (10-15% carbamide peroxide) into these plaques at home. The patient keeps this plaque in your mouth on the teeth for the recommended time (3–5 days). In this method, the patient should protect the gums very well. The whitening gel should not overflow or come into contact with the gums. Overflowing gel should be removed with a toothbrush.
What is Office Bleaching?
It is a teeth whitening method applied in the clinic. It is a suitable method for patients with time constraints. It provides an effective whitening in a much shorter time. It is more expensive than the home type. The whitening gel applied on the teeth by the dentist is activated with the help of UV light or laser and the whitening takes place within 1-2 hours.
What is Inner Whitening?
First, the quality of the root canal treatment is examined. If the root canal treatment is not good, it is repeated. The filling in the tooth is removed. Whitening gel is applied to the opened cavity. The tooth is then tightly closed with a temporary filling. The most important side effects are damage to the tissues around the tooth and melting at the root tip. In some cases, the discolored tooth may whiten more than the neighboring teeth.
Are there any side effects of teeth whitening?
All teeth whitening methods can cause sensitivity in the teeth, albeit a little. This sensitivity; It can even be against the weather, very hot and very cold foods. This is a normal and expected side effect. Sensitivity is usually expected to pass within 24-48 hours. When an unexpected situation is encountered, a doctor should be consulted.
How long does it take for teeth to whiten?
Teeth whitening varies from person to person. While some teeth whiten in a day or two, some teeth may take a month or two to whiten. The average duration of whitening is 2-3 weeks. The more yellowing the teeth are, the more effective the whitening can be. Graying caused by the use of antibiotics is more difficult to whiten and it may take a longer time to reach the result.
