Only white and aesthetic teeth are not enough for a beautiful smile. The healthy, aesthetic and visible gum part completes the smile. Sometimes the gums appear too much, and sometimes the gums are pulled and root surfaces are exposed, causing health and aesthetic problems. In pink aesthetics; We evaluate the appearance of teeth and gums, which we call Hollywood Smile, in 3D.

According to the needs of the person, we perform operations such as aligning the beginning of the gums, eliminating their asymmetries, restoring the receding gum losses, positioning the lip or shortening the nose-lip distance. We complete these procedures with laser, electrocautery and minimal surgical interventions. Thus, we create a more aesthetic and healthy pink aesthetic space for the person. In this concept, a holistic smile is provided by considering the aesthetic ratios of the person’s teeth, gums, lips, smile and chin.

Gingival Inflammation

Gingivitis and periodontitis are examined under the name of periodontal disease. If left untreated, tooth loss can occur. Periodontal literally means “around the gums”. Periodontal disease affects the gingival and bone tissue around the teeth. One or more teeth may be affected as a result of the disease. Bacteria in plaque cause gingivitis.

Gingivitis is the earliest stage of periodontal disease. Gums are red, swollen and prone to bleeding. At this stage of the disease, there are no or very few complaints. It usually occurs as a result of inadequate oral care. Treatment can be completed with professional cleaning followed by regular and good oral care at home.

Untreated gingivitis can turn into periodontitis. Over time, plaque begins to spread and multiply under the gingiva. The toxin produced by the bacteria in the plaque disturbs the gums and an inflammatory reaction occurs in the body. As a result of the inflammatory reaction, losses occur in the gingival and bone tissue around the teeth. Gums are separated from the teeth, pocket formation occurs between the tooth and the gingiva. As the disease progresses, the pockets become deeper and deeper bone and gingival tissues are damaged. In the later stages, increased shakiness of the teeth may occur and the teeth may fall out without any caries.

Gingival Recession
Exposed root surfaces occur after gingival recession. Gingival recession may have occurred as a result of hard brushing or periodontal disease. You may not know for what reason, the treatment to be applied to you includes understanding the cause of the problem and making suggestions in the post-operative period.

With the exposure of the roots, the teeth appear longer than they are, and the patient may seek treatment for aesthetic reasons. Or, regardless of aesthetic need, the exposed root surface is extremely sensitive to hot and cold foods and the pain felt from time to time may lead the patient to this treatment.

Gingival transfer can be done from the area immediately adjacent to the gingival deficiency or from a more distant area. The tissue to be transferred can be obtained from the patient’s mouth or it can be used from commercially available biomaterials.

After the treatment of gingival recession with soft tissue graft, further gingival and bone loss can be prevented. In some cases, the exposed root surface, which is more vulnerable, is covered and measures are taken against caries. As a result of covering the root surface, tooth sensitivity decreases and positive developments are gained in aesthetics.

Increased Shaking of Teeth (Mobility)

Gingival Aesthetics / Gingival Arrangement
When a smile photograph is examined, the shape, color and arrangement of the teeth affect the harmony and flow of the smile. However, there are other concepts that have a serious say in this aesthetic, even if it cannot be expressed exactly what it is when it is not looked at by a professional eye: the healthy appearance of the gums surrounding the teeth and the gingival-to-tooth ratio.

People with sagging gums have very short teeth, and their gums appear larger than normal. On the contrary, in patients with gingival recession for certain reasons, the teeth appear quite long and the gingiva appear less than normal. In both cases, there are irregularities in the tooth-to-gingival ratio and cause aesthetic problems.

In cases where the gingiva is drooping, the most accurate tooth-to-gingival ratio is determined after the preliminary study. The operation is performed by removing excess gingiva with the help of patient-specific prosthetic guiding appliances. Thanks to this treatment, ideal tooth-to-gingival ratio is achieved.

In cases with gingival recession, gingival transfer can be performed from the immediate adjacent or more distant area to the gingival deficiency area. The tissue to be transferred can be obtained from the patient’s mouth or it can be used from commercially available biomaterials. Thanks to this treatment, ideal tooth-to-gingival ratio is achieved and tooth sensitivity decreases.
